VIDEO Kanye West stops concert to call out handicapped fans for not standing up

Kanye West performs live in concert

Kanye West was, apparently, having a good time performing at the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney, Australia on Friday.

He was feeling so energetic and generous, in fact, that he decided to stop the show partway through to insist that everyone in the arena stand up before he would continue.

His command:

I can’t do this show until everybody stand up. Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and sh*t. Imma see you if you ain’t standing up, believe me, I’m very good at that.

True to his word, Kanye held up the show for an uncomfortably long time, while calling attention to two seated fans in the wheelchair section of the arena.

While other fans in the same section tried to communicate that, yes, in fact, the two people still seating were disabled–one was in a wheelchair; the other had a prosthetic limb–Kanye couldn’t make sense of the fans’ pleas.

According to at least one report, Kanye then sent his bodyguard into the crowd to verify that the seated folks were not lying about being physically unable to stand.

Fortunately for those of us watching from home, there is video of the event. Unfortunately for Kanye, that video is fast making the rounds.

Take a look at what transpired:
