32-year-old actress Britney Murphy died this morning from cardiac arrest, TMZ reports.

A 911 call was placed  around 8 a.m. to the Los Angeles City Fire Department from the home of Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Brittany was found unconscious in the shower by her mother, Susan. Her husband, screenwriter Simon Monjack, apparently was not there at the time.

Britttany gained pop culture acclaim in 1995 for her role as an ugly duckling turned hot, cool girl in the teenage cult hit Clueless. She’s since acted in a slew of movies including Girl Interrupted, Spun, 8-Mile, Don’t Say a Word, and Sin City. She was also the voice of Luanne Platter, the charmingly air headed live-in niece of Peggy and Hank Hill, on King of the Hill from 1997-2008. She will be seen in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendenbles, set for release in 2010.

The coroner is investigating her cause of death, but it is currently listed as cardiac arrest.
