Even the perpetual celebrity relationship optimists at People now sound skeptical about the future of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s marriage.
“Word around the industry has been that things are rocky at home,” a music source who was worked with Jay-Z said. “If they split, no one would be surprised.”
Another industry insider said one of the leading problems is that Beyonce and Jay-Z’s lives revolve around their business.
“The constant pressure has taken much of the romance out of their relationship,” the source said, adding they lead separate lives when not on the road.
People tried to play it in the middle of the road by saying “only they know the full truth” until a formal statement is made. Still, it’s a notable change in tone from a People story from just days ago when the writer said the couple put on a “warm display” and walked “arm-in-arm” from the stage. And, considering People is widely considered to be one of the most reputable entertainment sources, it seems safe to say there is officially trouble in paradise.
Since the reports about a split began in earnest following Jay-Z and Solange’s elevator encounter, the rumor has been that the Carters would officially separate at the end of their On The Run tour. That closed on Wednesday after making an incredible $100 million in ticket sales.
