Because they aren’t married, don’t have kids and haven’t been very public with their romance, the story isn’t really a big deal by itself. Page Six started the latest round of gossip last week by saying he was spotted “snuggling up to” his longtime friend/co-star Riley Keough. MSN’s Celebrity Fix followed up with an insider’s claim that Jennifer and Nicholas split because the Oscar winner has an “exploded ego.”
“They’re still talking but Nicholas is moving on. He hates how in love with fame Jen is, and he told her he hates dating an A-list actress,” said the source. “That was the most hurtful to Jen because she’s worked so hard for her achievements and she’s so proud of her career. But Nic wants a more low-key girlfriend and Riley fits the bill.”
As far as I can tell, there are three options here: Jennifer and Nicholas are still together. They broke up because of distance, normal relationship issues or some other non salacious reason. Or they broke up due to her “exploded ego.”
Of the scenarios, the third seems the least likely. I’m sure Jennifer would be wounded if Nicholas blamed her for her success, but that doesn’t translate to “exploded ego.”
