RHONJ’s Teresa Giucide says it’s too terrifying to think about potential prison time

Teresa Giudice - Joe Giudice Fraud Case

Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice says she’s coping with the thought of potentially going to prison by using a simple method: She just refuses to think about it.

“No one can ever prepare themselves to go to prison,” she told InTouch this week. “More importantly, how could I ever prepare myself to be away from my kids? It’s too terrifying for me to even think about.”

Teresa, who pled guilty to multiple fraud charges along with husband Joe Giudice, reportedly faces up to 27 months in prison. But, in the ideal scenario, she may only be sentenced to house arrest and/or probation. Sources say Teresa most fears serving in prison at the same time as her husband, which would leave their four daughters without parents at home. (Joe and Melissa Gorga have offered to care for the children, but Joe Giudice said the girls would more likely stay with his brother.)

“I’ve had many sleepless nights worrying about being separated from my family,” Teresa said. “My family is my everything.”

She said the silver lining is that the ordeal has brought the whole family closer together. She also she continues to support her “poor honey” 100 percent and added, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

Teresa is due back in court for sentencing on September 23.

Real Housewives of New Jersey returns to Bravo next Sunday, July 13 at 10/9c.
