Wes Bentley joins the cast of American Horror Story Freak Show

Wes Bentley - American Horror Story

If titles alone told the story, American Beauty‘s Wes Bentley is doing a 180 by joining American Horror Story Freak Show.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the Hunger Games actor will play Eddie, “a shady figure from Kathy Bates’ character’s past seeking revenge.” He will appear in the two-part Halloween episode, which come shortly after the season’s October premiere. (Just three months away!)

We don’t know much about Kathy Bates’ character — although, from the sound of things, neither does she.

“I know what my character looks like, but I don’t know anything else about her,” she told Buzzsugar last month. “In fact, I’ve just gone to costume fittings, and we’re still developing the character. I haven’t seen the script yet, and we start shooting in the middle of July, so time’s a-wastin’!”

Basically all we know for sure at this point is that she season is set in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950s with potential time hops to other eras. In terms of roles, Jessica Lange is playing a German ex-pat in charge of the freak show while Sarah Paulson is playing conjoined twins Bette and Dot.

“I think it’s Ryan who disseminates that information when and where he wants to,” Kathy said of the limited information available.

By joining the show, Wes is part of an increasingly acclaimed cast: Coven newcomers Kathy, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe are returning along with AHS fan-favorites Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Jamie Brewer. Michael Chiklis is also set to join the show for the first time.
