Rihanna wore one of the more revealing outfits in the history of clothing to the CFDAs earlier this week. Some people hailed her for being fashion-forward. Others accused her of being an exhibitionist who doesn’t know where to draw the line. TLC’s T-Boz and Chilli fall in the latter group.
“Every time I see you you don’t have to be naked,” T-Boz said on an Australian radio show, reports Sunrise. “It’s easy to sell sex… It’s hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, ‘Oh TLC must be jealous’, but I call a spade a spade.”
Chilli reminded the audience they became the best-selling girl group of all time while wearing clothes.
“That says a lot,” Chilli said. “We could go around too with booby cakes out all day long… The blessing out of all of this is that we are able to sustain and that’s the hard thing to do in this business is to have longevity.”
But, if it’s any consolation to Rihanna, she isn’t the only performer that T-Boz and Chilli feel superior to. Chilli explained, “TLC is my favourite girl group, even though I’m in the group. I love our group.”
Rihanna passive-aggressively responded by changing her Twitter cover picture to a shot of the TLC ladies showing off their “booby cakes.” (Cakes added by me. And, yes, Rihanna’s profile picture is an inexplicable image of Kanye eating an ice cream cone. It’s awesome.)
She also tweeted about “them.”
