VIDEO Dean McDermott gives questionable excuse for not going to the hospital with Tori Spelling

Dean McDermott Tori Spelling Hospitalized

On tonight’s episode of Lifetime’s True Tori, Tori Spelling is rushed to the hospital while experiencing extreme abdominal pains and migraine headaches. She was accompanied by a show producer because husband Dean said he couldn’t go along.

In an exclusive extended preview for The Fishwrapper, Dean elaborated on the real reason he couldn’t be at the hospital…

“I can’t be with here there because the paparazzi sit right out there,” Dean said, gesturing toward the front of his house. “We had to sneak her out of here. We’ve got to sneak her into the hospital.”

Only then getting to a more plausible explanation for not going along with his ailing wife, Dean said he also had to watch the kids. He added, “So, I’ve just got to sit here by the phone and wait for a call or text to see what’s going on.”

Later in the clip, the show producer who accompanied Tori to the hospital called to tell Dean they had Tori hooked up to an IV because she was dehydrated. Dean asked the producer to send his love along to Tori, adding it “really sucks” he couldn’t be there.

“Now that the tables are turned where Tori’s in the hospital, I’m really getting a taste of what she went through,” said Dean, who was in rehab earlier this year. “Taking care of four kids is so hard. I don’t know how she got through it.”

Tori was ultimately hospitalized for six days, but has since been photographed (by aforementioned paparazzi) while out-and-about on lunch meetings with friends and on dates with Dean.

True Tori airs on Lifetime Tuesday nights at 10/9c.
