Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong both married this weekend

Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong, two of the three biggest stars from Boy Meets World, said their “I dos” this weekend — in separate events.

Rider, who played Shawn Hunter on the 1990s classic, confirmed last week he was marrying girlfriend Alexandra Barreto in a camp-themed Oregon ceremony on Sunday.

The couple met during the short-lived Pepper Dennis TV show in 2006 and continued dating after the series ended. Rider proposed last year with an hand-made engagement ring. (As if we needed another reason to love the guy who played Shawn, right?!)

“I spent weeks making the ring in secret,” the 33-year-old actor/director told People. “I carved the ring out of wax, cast it in white gold and had my dad make a wooden ring box for me. My dad made my mom’s ring, so I was following in his footsteps.”

Unlike Rider, Danielle — who played Topanga Lawrence — never clarified her wedding date to the press. All we knew was that the hitchin’ was set to happen shortly before filming for Girl Meets World begins in November. It wasn’t until the deed was done on Saturday that Danielle shared the official news!

People reported Danielle’s wedding to Tim Belusko was a “short and sweet” ceremony in Los Angeles. There were 200+ guest list included six bridesmaids and six groomsmen as well as some of the Boy Meets World cast.

Rider explained to People the wedding overlap was his fault because Danielle selected her date first. Fortunately, the whole crew recently got together for another reunion.

“I am missing some of my Boy Meets World family… That was my fault.”

Congrats to both sets of newlyweds! Now only one question remains: Whose wedding did Ben Savage attend? (I’m hoping he caught an early morning flight and made both!)
