VIDEO Miley Cyrus doesn’t think people over 40 have sex

Miley Cyrus Matt Lauer

Most of us know there isn’t a cutoff limit for someone’s sexual lifespan. Then again, most of us aren’t Miley Cyrus. While taking a twerk break on Today this morning, Miley told Matt Lauer she thinks people stop hitting the bed together when they hit 40.

“I heard when you turn 40 things start to go a little less sexual. So probably around 40, I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore,” Miley said, explaining when she’ll likely tone down her hyper-sexual acts.

Seemingly caught off guard, Matt Lauer asked Miley how old she thought he was. He was initially flattered when she guessed 40, but set himself up for an insult when he clarified he’s 55.

“Oh, well, then you’re really definitely not sexual,” Miley said.

Based on comprehensive study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2007, Miley seriously underestimates the frequency with which middle-aged and senior citizens get it on.

“Most people assume that people stop doing it after some vague age,” sex researcher Edward Laumann of the University of Chicago told AP when the study was published.

In actuality, more than one-quarter of adults between 75 and 85 years old reported having sex within the past year. What’s more, about one-third said they gave or received oral sex. Among the younger age sets that responded to the survey, 73 percent of those between 57 and 64 reported having intercourse within the previous 12 months.
