According to In Touch Weekly, producers of Real Housewives of New Jersey are lobbying to swap Caroline Manzo for her estranged sister, Dina Manzo.
“The timing is perfect — Caroline won’t be returning next season,” a source said. “She has her spin-off and that’s what she’s moving on to. She might appear in a couple episodes here and there.”
The sisters had a falling out during the third season. Dina subsequently decided to leave the show, but has continued to have a cold relationship with her sister. Still, she recently said her memories of the show aren’t all bad.
“At the very beginning of filming we had a lot of fun,” Dina told for Oprah’s Where Are They Now? last month. “They weren’t sure what direction the show was going into — it was before the table flip happened.”
Nonetheless, it would be surprising to see Dina back on RHONJ considering she believed the “enhanced reality” situations brought out the worst in her.
“There were things that aggravated me and I reacted,” Dina admitted, adding she told her daughter not to act like any of the ladies on the show.
Further complicating her potential return to the show, Dina currently lives in New York — so it would require another move for her to be an actual housewife of New Jersey.
