On Monday night’s episode of Real Housewives of Miami, Marysol Patton has a meeting with her dad on camera and reveals that before her mother Elsa suffered a stroke this March, her parents were about to divorce after 50 years together.
“After 50 years of marriage, right before mom was hospitalized, my mother and father were on their way to like a pretty messy divorce,” Marysol explains in a preview clip. “They’re both very intense. Sometimes he’d walk by and give her a squeeze on her honey, and they’d giggle. The other 90% of the time, they were at odds.”
Her 85-year-old father is a yachtsman who still travels a lot for work. Marysol recalls that Elsa would love when her dad would go out of town for work. “She’d be like ‘Oh the gringo’s leaving. I’m so happy. We’re going to have so much fun.’”
Her dad joins her on camera while she goes through some old photos of her mom, which are just making her sad. Elsa’s scheduled to come home from the hospital soon, but she’s been refusing to work with the therapists. Hopefully she’ll be more receptive to therapy when she’s comfortable at home.
