MTV Big Tips Texas cast photos

MTV surprised a lot of folks when they announced their two latest docu-series with commercials during the 2013 Video Music Awards. Big Tips Texas features ten sexy ladies who all work at the controversial Texas “breastaurant” Redneck Heaven and Scrubbing In gets a little less risqué by documenting a group of travel nurses assigned to work at an Orange County, CA hospital for 12 weeks. One thing the commercials didn’t include, however, were premiere dates for either series. MTV remedied that today with an official press release that includes the October premiere dates for both shows as well as more detailed descriptions of each!

“Big Tips Texas” documents the lives of a group of fun-loving girlfriends serving up southern hospitality at a popular Texas watering hole while hoping to make their dreams a reality. The eclectic group of women includes four veterans and six new girls. Sabrina [photo below], a gifted student working to save money to go back to college and eventually Harvard Law School; Amber the girl who knows her way around the bar but comes at odds with the other staff; Typhani [photo above], the boss; and Claire, the bar’s top bartender, are amongst those who have earned their stripes. The newbies include Kristyn, an ambitious waitress who has dreams of climbing the establishment’s corporate ladder and starting her own clothing line; Morgan, a rodeo princess; Mimi, one of the new girls who ruffles a few feathers; Jillian, the Chicago transplant; Macy, the biggest little Texan of them all; and Mercedez, known as the sassy southern server.

United by the bonds of sisterhood, these women’s lives are loaded with tons of comedy, drama and heart. They fight, make up and love like sisters all while working their way towards adulthood one crazy shift at a time. Whether they’re spending their free time on Lake Lewisville, planning their futures or getting dirty on the ranch, they’re living it up and letting loose every day. Throughout every episode of “Big Tips Texas,” viewers will watch the cast’s friendships evolve while they work and party their way through the drama and adventure of figuring out who they are and where they’re going. “Big Tips Texas” premieres Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and includes 14 half-hour episodes. Giddy up!

MTV Scrubbing In Crystal and Chelsey

“Scrubbing In,” follows a group of travel nurses assigned to work at an Orange County, CA hospital for 12 weeks. Relocating from across the country, these nurses have left their hometowns and lives behind for short-term contracts at an understaffed hospital, with the added benefit of exploring a new city. For Tyrice, Chris, Fernando and Adrian, this isn’t their first tour and they’re considered experts of the program. For first-timers Chelsey [Photo above: right], Michelle, Crystal [Photo above: left], Nikki and Heather, this is a new journey they’re embarking on together, looking for a change from their nursing jobs in Pittsburgh, PA.

Together the group faces unique responsibilities and challenges in their intense career in nursing. Outside of their comfort zone these nurses will have to make new friends, maintain existing friendships, dive into a new dating pool and continuously prove themselves to the staff nurses at their new hospital. But it’s not all work and no play – this group loves to blow off some steam during their downtime. It’s a lot for these twenty-something’s to take on but this energetic, fearless and outgoing group of young nurses are determined to have it all, including a rewarding career and personal life. “Scrubbing In” premieres Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

As an RN, I really hope this show doesn’t portray the profession as a joke. I’ll be interested to see how realistic it will be.

    • frontdoormom

Hm i wonder which show will get the ratings. Cause clearly teens…or mtvs demographic is all about party party party. Its sad.

    • Heather

I miss Washington Heights :( but I’ll be watching these too

    • Dani

Yikes! That lipliner and eyeliner 0.o

    • Sarah Gordon-Levitt

As a woman from Dallas, I am terrified that these girls are going to make a fool out of themselves and make Texas look like the stereotype it is already portrayed as…REDNECK HEAVEN.

Dallas is a CITY we have gangs, buildings, corporate jobs, schools, walmarts, etc just like all other cities in the USA. I bet they are going to make the DFW look so country which is the furthest from the truth.

      • LaLa84

I’m also from Dallas, and afraid they’re going to make us all look like a bunch of loose skanks.

        • Sarah Gordon-Levitt

I’m sure they will. MTV has a problem with making all women look like loose skunks

    • Shelby

I live in the DFW area, and most people already hate Redneck Heaven because they serve food in literally pasties and body paint. This show getting brought up has already ruffled lots of feathers and lots of negative attention already so I won’t be watching that hot mess.

I’m excited about the Scrubbing In to see what that show is about, and I saw the 30-second preview and looks pretty good to me. Be nice to see what it’s like to be a nurse!

    • Sara

Why are two black girls, Morgan and Mercedez working for Redneck Heaven? They’re not “rednecks” , what the hell!

      • Tasha

Morgan claims that she is not black in any way form or fashion… I know by looking at her and everyone else should see that she is not white so I wonder what she is which I believe is one of the real reasons why her fiance’s father does not want them to be married
