Sometimes stars (and regular people) will do crazy things to stay thing. They will eat only grapefruit or cabbage, or go on juice diets, or all protien diets, or no protein diets. Sometimes people even get fit the healthy way, through a well-balanced diet full of fruits and veggies coupled with exercise. There’s a lot of health information out there, and I’m definitely not a nutritionist, but most of it will tell you to avoid red meat and alcohol if you want to stay healthy, and load up on fresh plant foods.

Liz Hurley has her own special way of staying thin at 44 and it actually involves vodka, beef jerky, and starvation. That’s right, she chews on sticks of dehydrated meat, gets soused, and goes to be hungry. That’s not exactly the ideal pictures of health.

Liz told the Daily Mail that now that she’s over 40 she doesn’t drink coffee (Gasp!) or red wine anymore, but instead drinks vodka spritzers. First of all coffee in moderation may actually be good for you as long as you keep hydrated, and if you’re going to drink alcohol, you might as well get the antioxidants that red wine offers. But whatev, this is Liz’s world!

The other part of her diet plan for optimal health involves eating only one meal a day and going to bed with a gnawing sensation in her belly. Sounds like a blast.

What does Liz eat during her one meal a day? Cured meat snacks. She loves beef jerky so much that she’s put out her own line of organic jerky to go with her organic fruit bars and bacon. She’s even admitted to eating only beef jerky while filming a movie!
