The battle rages on between Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney and her first husband, Darren Vieth. Vieth, who’s previously accused Barney of being a liar and cheat, has now filed a cease and desist letter requesting that the reality star stop spreading “defamatory and libelous” remarks.

In the letter issued by Vieth’s attorney, Peter R. Nasmyth, correspondences made by Barney via Twitter and other social media sites between July 16-18 are singled out.

“First, Mr. Vieth demands that you immediately refrain, case and desist from issuing further defamatory and libelous correspondence of this type. Second, Mr. Vieth demands that you issue an immediate retraction of the libelous statements, and forward the retraction to each and every individual or entity that received publication of the libelous material. Failure to take immediate action will result in Mr. Vieth exploring all available remedies including the filing of a complaint for damages against you in Superior Court.”

The tweets in question have already been deleted by Barney. In addition the cease and desist reads:

“Be advised that this office will require a full retraction of all statements included in your social media posts concerning Mr. Vieth for the month of July 2013. In addition to the above, we will require your written assurances that you will forever refrain from continuing the pattern of disparagement of which you have previously engaged.”

The letter gives Barney a deadline of August 9, 2013 to comply. In a previous response, Barney kept her reaction short and sweet in regards to the allegations levied by Darren Vieth calling it “all trash.”
