Contestants in the upcoming Miss World Pageant arrived at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London on November 9, 2009 for a photocall, which officially launches the month-long contest.
Whoah! That’s a lot of beautiful women in one place! I’m imagining the world’s biggest slumber party pillow fight!

But seriously, as pageant officials will argue, this is really important for some reason and isn’t just about how attractive these ladies look in bikinis! Shame on the 99% of you that think that way! No, this contest measures important qualities like question answerability, high-heeled walktitude, enamel luminosity, moral character and baton twirling. So cut loose all those stereotypes you’re harboring in your neanderthaliferous brain and take a serious, soulful look at these super-sexy hotties from all over the world!

Before you skim over this article and move on to soccer player Elizabeth Lambert violently pulling on an opponent’s ponytail, I want you to take a closer look at Miss United States, Lisa-Marie Kohrs:
That’s kinda disturbing. What does she do for a talent, become a hat pin? Or maybe a mop? Is this what people want Jessica Simpson to look like?!?
I surfed around trying to see if maybe it was just a perspective issue, but her profile photo on globalbeauties.com didn’t help because she was wearing a baggy shirt and most everything else was a little blurry. (How do you get to be Miss United States at the Miss World Pageant and not have bikini photos plastered all over the internet?)
Maybe I’m just a sucker for clever marketing, but I will probably tune in to watch Miss United States in the swimwear competition if only to see just how thin she really is! Oh, and to hear her views on same-sex marriage.

My cousin’s not too thin. She’s a naturally slender lady, and also an athlete who pitched for her high school in softball and played on the CIF championship tennis team. She also surfs and plays beach volleyball, a “lean, mean fightin’ machine.” Hope that answers your question.
