Fergie of the Black Eye Peas is looking to make her stage name official.
The 38-year-old “Fergalicious” singer has filed papers requesting that her birth name of Stacy Ann Ferguson be legally changed to Fergie Duhamel. It’s been 4 years since she married actor Josh Duhamel so the change of last name is obvious.
As for her first name alteration, her lawyer says she wants to “conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years.”
Stacy is required to publish a notice of her intent in the newspaper for four consecutive weeks as part of the process.
A hearing is scheduled for Aug 16 in which Fergie should officially become Fergie.
