Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita and her family are sharing their story with the world as they do everything they can to help their autistic three-year-old son Nicholas.

Jacqueline spends a great deal of her time researching her son’s condition, and finding new therapies to help his development. Jacqueline often tweets about some of her efforts that include things like finding comfortable clothes for him, and music therapy. She’s currently trying a gluten- and casein-free (GFCF) diet because some research suggests that people with autism are more sensitive to gluten.

She’s also trying out a hyperbaric oxygen chamber bed, which is supposed to reduce inflammation, and increase oxygen levels and blood flow to the brain.

“Through my autism research, I found that the hypbaric oxygen chamber could possibly help children on the [autism] spectrum,” Jacqueline explains on RHONJ. “Not every treatment is going to work, but it could work, so you gotta try it. Even Michael Jackson had one!”

During the treatments, an adult accompanies Nicholas in the chamber so there isn’t a chance he will feel claustrophobic.
