So much for needing a heartbreak coach! According to reports, Katy Perry and John Mayer are back on. The two first began dating last summer, but after a couple of brief splits and a few engagement rumors, they finally called it quits in March. At the time, their breakup was credited to their equally hectic schedules — but that’s all water under the bridge now that they’ve reportedly decided to give their relationship a third go-around.
Two sources tell E! News that Katy and John are “back on” and enjoying their “casual” relationship after first being spotted together over Memorial Day weekend. “They are just hanging out,” one of the sources said. “They are not putting a label on it.”
When the two split in March, one friend predicted that it may not be the end of their relationship all together. “It’s not over until it’s over. You have to see how things play out,” the pal told Us Weekly. A second source claimed, “She’s leaving the window open. They have both been so focused on work.”
Weeks after their split, John appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show where he sort of addressed his breakup from Katy. “It was a very private relationship going in, it was a private relationship during, and it’s a private relationship still,” he told Ellen. “I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other. I’ve been much happier since then.”
As for Katy Perry’s ex-husband Russell Brand, he also recently reunited with an ex. Hours before news of Katy and John’s reunion was made public, E! News posted photos of him and former flame Isabella Brewster, the sister of The Fast and the Furious star Jordan Brewster, looking more than happy to be in each other’s company during a shopping trip in Los Angeles.
