Veteran rocker Jon Bon Jovi has some stern words for pop sensation Justin Bieber.
In an interview with the London Evening Standard, Jon Bon discussed the Biebs being tardy for his own concert party at the O2 Arena in London on March 4. Some accounts had the “Baby” singer at 2-hours late but he argued it was closer to 40 minutes – citing technical difficulties in an apology via Twitter.
51-year-old Bon Jovi, who knows a thing or two about being adored by legions of young fans, was having none of that. Jon beliebs that if Justin continues stiffing fans he’ll go from being wanted dead or alive to simply livin’ on a prayer…
“Every generation has guys that do that, none of that is new They run the risk of disrespecting their audience members who have worked hard to pay for their ticket, to give you the permission to take two or three hours of their lives — or in that kid’s case, 80 minutes of their lives.”
I like how Jon snuck in an extra zinger on how he rocks longer than Bieber… He added:
“Do it once, you can be forgiven. Do it enough times and shame on you. They won’t have you back. Then it just becomes a cliché. It’s really not cool — you’re an a**hole. Go to f***in’ work!”
Doing a little math, I realized that Justin Bieber was nowhere even close to being born when Bon Jovi’s signature album, “Slippery When Wet,” destroyed the charts way on back in ’86. The Bieber Army is a fierce virtual fighting force but I wonder how many fans won’t even know who Jon Bon Jovi is when they catch wind of this slam?
