Farrah Abraham’s sex tape hit the web on Monday and was extremely well-receieved. Not only did the film beat a views record previously set by Kim Kardashian, it also crashed the entire site. So what led to the gutsy career move? Last night, the former Teen Mom star spoke with Entertainment Tonight and revealed what it was that led her to make the decision to film herself having sex.
“A lot of my girlfriends who are back home … have done personal sexy shots, sexual videos … feminine things showing their sexuality and being happy for themselves,” Farrah explained to ET‘s Brooke Anderson. “Here I am the same age or younger as most of my friends, and I’m like ‘why am I not [as] happy with myself as they are? Why am I not doing this for me?'” And so, she did.
We could make an elaborate list of Why Nots, such as her four-year-old daughter or her now-ruined reputation, but we’re sure you’ve already made a mental note of those.
Farrah, who first claimed the tape was strictly for her personal use, eventually sold the tape for $1.5 million but Farrah claims her co-star James Deen only got what she personally paid him. “I was like ‘I’m paying you to shut your mouth, you’re signing the agreement’ like that’s what it was to protect himself but unless he made money off of his interviews and those things I have no control over and that’s him.”
Farrah hasn’t been happy with the way James has conducted himself since they filmed their sexcapades. He first confirmed the news that they had made the flick, and then claimed that it was all an elaborate hoax which was going to be a “leak.” James even claims that they were going to fake their relationship to make the alleged leak more believable.
“What ended up happening was James Deen, who is in my video…thought it was ok …[to say to] the public ‘I did something with Farrah’ but he did it in his own way of saying ‘I made a porn with her’ … [and] made it his own thing and that’s why I was like, ‘Let me be one step ahead and let me gain control of my own video again.'”
Since selling the film, James has spoken out just a few times, but it’s rarely in a disrespectful manner. For the most part, he’s said that he wishes her the best and wishes that she wasn’t getting so much criticism for making the tape. And what’s the harm in that?
