Aviva Drescher signs on for Real Housewives of New York Season 6, plans to visit Boston victims

Despite previous reports suggesting otherwise, Aviva Drescher has reportedly just signed a six-figure deal to return to the cast of The Real Housewives of New York for the upcoming sixth season. The show is set to begin filming on May 6, but before then, Aviva will be heading to Boston where she will visit with the victims of the Boston bombing.

Aviva, whose leg was amputated at age 6 after a farming accident, plans to visit several hospitals and answer any questions victims have about the loss of a limb or limbs and to lend her support. “This isn’t about getting press or attention for herself, this is about helping others,” a friend of Aviva’s tells Confidenti@l. “Four different hospitals have asked her to visit and she has said, ‘Name the date. I will do whatever I can to help.'”

And for those who might want to draw a connection between her signing on to do RHONY Season 6 and the hospital trips, Aviva’s friend says the trip will not be filmed. “Aviva will not be bringing the Bravo cameras to follow her on the visits,” the friend explains. “This is about helping others, not her, and certainly not about Bravo ratings.”

Last season, Aviva was unable to film where she and her family were living, but this time around, she’s rented a Park Avenue townhouse that does allow cameras specifically for the show. The new diggs will mean fans will finally get to see her at-home life, albeit in a different home.

So why the long delay before making her return official? “Bravo deliberately staggered her contract until the last minute,” an insider reveals. “Last season, Aviva and Ramona were the stars, and Bravo was scared if they invited them back at the same time they could team up and ask for a lot more money.” But that isn’t how things went down.

Ramona reportedly received a $450,000 contract to return for Season 6. Meanwhile, Aviva’s Season 6 contract is reportedly worth right around $100,000, which has caused friction with this already feuding pair. “The difference in what they earn makes them fight even more,” adds the insider.

Sounds like more Raviva drama on the way soon!
