MUSIC VIDEOS The Newlyweds’ Blair Late was a singer in boy band B3

Newlyweds star Blair Late in B3 boy band

Long before he fell in love and got married and starred alongside partner Jeff Pederson on Bravo’s Newlyweds, Blair Late (above, left) was an up-and-coming singer who was chosen from hundreds of aspiring singers to fill a spot in a boy band.

The year was 2001. The Backstreet Boys had just released their first greatest hits album. ‘N Sync was about to take a break. The field was pretty wide open for a brand new boy band. That’s where B3 came into the picture.

Though formed in New York, B3 achieved most of its success in Germany, where its biggest hit, “I.O.I.O,” rose all the way to No. 4 on the charts in 2002. At the time the band consisted of Timothy Cruz, John Sutherland and Rod Michael. Later that year Michael would leave the band, and he was replaced by… Blair Madison Late from Odessa, Texas!

After joining the band in 2002, Blair recorded two albums with B3 including 2003’s N.Y.B3 and Living for the Weekend in 2004. Here are a few of the music videos from those albums featuring Blair in all his scream-worthy hunkiness:

From N.Y.B3
“We Got The Power”

From Living for the Weekend
“Until the End of Time”

From Living for the Weekend
“Can’t Fight the Feeling”

From Living for the Weekend
“All the Girls”

Sadly, Living for the Weekend would be the band’s last, and soon after the group split. Late pursued a solo singing career (you can listen to some of his songs on his MySpace page), but would eventually shift his focus to developing his chops as a television commentator on pop culture stories. Late also fell in love and got married to Jeff Pederman last April, which led to him participating in Newlyweds.

The Bravo show, set to premiere May 6 at 10/9c, will follow Blair and Jeff as well as three other couples as they navigate the first year of marriage. Here’s a preview trailer:

And here’s a promotional image of the couple from the network:

I’m a sucker for Bravo reality shows, so I can’t wait for this one. But, I have to make an ominous connection: Let’s hope Blair’s relationship doesn’t go the same was as another former boy band/Newlywed star’s.
