Derek and Julianne Hough made it big when they landed roles on ABC’s hit reality competition Dancing With The Stars. From there, Julianne went on to star in several hit films including Rock of Ages, Safe Haven, and Footloose, and Derek appeared on the hit series Better With You. Now, the two dancers are setting out to conquer the world of live shows in Las Vegas.
Last night during a post-dance interview on Dancing With The Stars, Derek let their big plans slip to Life & Style. When the magazine asked Derek if he’s been taking production notes from the set of the hit ABC show for his upcoming Starz series, he took the conversation in a whole other direction. “For a live show in Las Vegas that Julianne and I are working on — absolutely. These little production ideas like lighting and things like that.”
When the mag asked for more information on that, Derek replied, “Oh, whoops! Keep going!”
In addition to the upcoming Vegas show, Julianne and Derek are creating a new television series for Starz titled Blackpool which revolves around the world of ballroom competition in Blackpool, England. The show will explore the dancer’s obsession with perfection and the darker side of the glamorous world of ballroom dance.
These two sure are keeping busy — they’re like a modern day Donny & Marie but with a few more shows in the works!
