More details on Kailyn Lowry’s altercations with Javi and Jo from Teen Mom 2 Season 4

Kailyn Lowry gets in a fight with Javi Marroquin in Teen Mom 2 Season 4 trailer

Kailyn Lowry usually appears pretty level-headed, but in the trailer for the upcoming season we see her in a screaming rage as she gets into a physical altercation with her then-boyfriend Javi Marroquin. However, as often is the case, reality isn’t always as it seems and according to eyewitnesses, Kailyn’s fight with Javi was a bit different than what fans are getting from the trailer.

In a new report by Ashley Majeski (from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup) for The Clicker, Kailyn’s friend Lex Lopez defends her and suggests that her actions weren’t quite as bad as they look in the Season 4 clip. “She never hit him,” Lex explained. “She pushed him out of frustration and was instantly sorry for her actions.”

“That day there were 14 people in Kail’s tiny house, including an eight-person camera crew. It was so hectic and Kail was very frustrated and she just lost it for a minute,” Lex said. “Javi forgave her that day, even though MTV tries to make it look like he leaves the house after the incident. In fact, he went outside to go help his parents fix Kail’s car.”

As Kailyn told Starcasm, the devastating fight led her to seek counseling, and from that, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which she is now being treated for. And of the fight, she also told Starcasm, “I just want to publicly apologize in advance to my fans, and even though Javi and I have moved on from it, I want to say I’m sorry again to him and his family for letting my emotions get the best of me. I know how humiliating that is for them and I’m humiliated myself.”

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only fight Kailyn got into while filming Season 4. She and her son Isaac’s father Jo Rivera also had a dispute, and in the trailer, she’s seen telling a friend, “I f**king hit him.” After the confrontation, Kailyn filed an order of protection against Jo, but later withdrew it.

“She snapped,” Jo told The Clicker. “I tried to push her away, but (nothing) more. (Her filing) the PFA was more of a way to get back at me than to protect herself.”

Regarding accusations that the footage was purposefully edited to imply domestic violence, an MTV spokesperson had the following statement:

“This is a docu-series and the scenes shown are accurate portrayals of each young woman’s story – the trailer includes a confrontation that took place between Kailyn and Javi, and shows her expressing her feelings about it. Viewers will see this event unfold later in the season.”

Teen Mom 2 season 4 debuts on February 18 at 10/9c on MTV.
