Lots of people claim to have experienced love at first sight, but very few have proof. That cannot be said for Lesya Toumaniantz (above), a former art student from from Saransk, Russia who allowed her tattoo artist boyfriend Rouslan Toumaniantz to tattoo ‘Ruslan’ across her face in bold, 5-inch high gothic lettering less than 24 hours after meeting him for the first time!
Lesya, who is a lover of tattoos and whose sister is a tattoo artist, met Toumaniantz (seen with Lesya above, just before she got her face inked) in an online chat room and the two fell “head over heels in love.” They finally met each other in Moscow last month and it was a matter of hours before Lesya was in the chair getting her face needle and inked up. It was about the same amount of time before the two were engaged and Lesya had taken Rouslan’s last name!
“It’s a symbol of our eternal devotion. I’d like him to tattoo every inch of my body,” Lesya says.
“RUSLA” isn’t all Rouslan has written on his betrothed’s visage, he also added an “All For Love” above her left eyebrow. (It may be egotistic, but I’m glad that English is the accepted language for face ink declarations of love! Amerikuh!)
“Their plans for a life together include her learning to tattoo while she also gets the full-body ink that she’s always dreamed of, and of course a family,” says a pal of Toumaniantz. “I know that there are people who are terrified that Lesya has made a rash decision that she’ll regret horribly, but sometimes the best decisions are the ones you make in an instant with your heart rather than the ones long-debated in your mind,” he adds.
So what do you think about Lesya’s rather permanent decision? To help you decide here is a photo of Lesya before her Ruslan face tatto as well as a few taken after:
Making international headlines for tattooing a young woman’s face might be unsettling for some, but Rouslan Toumaniantz is probably completely unfazed given his unrivaled experience in the area. I’ll give you a second to think about it… international headlines … young woman with STARtling face ink…
OK, time’s up! Rouslan Toumaniantz is no stranger to viral face tattoo news because he is the artist who inked the famous 56 stars on the face of 18-year-old Kimberley Vlaeminckin of Belgium in 2009! In case you don’t remember, Vlaeminckin sued Toumaniantz, claiming she had only asked for three stars on her face, but had fallen asleep in the chair. She later dropped the suit after confessing she had been awake throughout and had indeed asked for all 56 stars. (Click the link to catch up on that amazing story.)
