Teen missing after video of violent fight was posted to Facebook

Authorities are searching for 14-year-old Baileigh Karam, who has went missing after a video involving the teen in a fist fight was posted to Facebook. Baileigh’s mom, Karen Karam, hasn’t seen her since the fight took place last Friday.

In the footage, a group of girls can be seen gathered around cheering the brawl that happened at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California. The onlookers made sure to take videos of the melee with their cellphones but did nothing to try and stop what was happening. Baileigh’s mom said the terrible situation was ignited by jealousy over a boy.

Here is the local news report filed by CBS8. I’ll warn you in advance, it contains footage from the fight that is violent:

Team Amber Rescue is circulating fliers in hopes of locating Baileigh. Her mom believes she may be with a close friend. She said, “I think she’s [friend] out there protecting her. I think she knew Baileigh was going to be in a bad, bad place and that they’re out there together somewhere.” She added:

“I hope my daughter knows that we just want her back home, under any circumstance, always come back home. You are so missed, so, so, so loved. We are all falling apart without her.”

Anyone who has information on Baileigh’s whereabouts are being asked to contact the Carlsbad Police Department.

  I think there are more important things to worry about right now than that, such as finding this girl. Her parents can teach her manners after that. While she is missing so many horrible things can happen to her.

this is terrible, but it didn’t look like bullying. It looked like a fight where one of the combatants was seriously outgunned.

The story is a bit unclear to me. Was she the victim of the brawl, or was she the aggressor? Either way, I pray for her safe return back home.

  Well she appeared to get hip multiple times without being able to defend herself much but as to who initially started the fight it seems like one of those stupid highschool fights where the girls plan to meet up and fight so if that was the case there was no aggressor or victim, but who knows exactly how it started..

Authorities need to bring out the ‘eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth’ method. These little girls who act so big & bad need to have a beating twice as bad as what this girl had. By female prisoners. I bet you that if these bullies had their asses beat, there would be less bullying. As a mother, I can tell you now that I will go to jail if either one of my kids ever gets bullied. I will beat the f*ck out of a bully, no matter what the age. And if someone has anything to say about that, they can kiss my ass up one side and down the other. Keep your kids in check, teach them right from wrong, BE A GOOD FREAKING PARENT, and we wouldn’t have these issues.

Maybe she shouldn’t of thought the fight was so funny then when she got her ass kicked she ran off. Granted I’ll hurt for her mother if she turns up dead but I hope she just swallows her pride and comes home and not be a dumb ass and get into fights again.

Like someone else mentioned, was the girl who is missing the attacked or the attacker?

Anyway, watched the video. It’s funny that the mom is saying her daughter didn’t look like she was trying to fight…that other girl was just kicking her arse so she was losing. Not that I condone this type of fighting, but the mom can’t blame the other teen when we don’t know who started it.

  I finally saw the video. (Couldn’t pull it up earlier) Baleigh’s mom seemed like she wasn’t too concerned. Did anyone else get that impression? I think she was definitely on the losing end of that fight and ran because she got her a$$ beat. Still, I hope she comes home & is safe.

Pointless violence like that has got to stop. Fighting over a boy who more than likely doesn’t give a f— about either one of them. Relationships at that young of an age are pretty ridiculous. They don’t last. Shame on the person filming the fight & the people cheering them on. They could’ve broken the fight up, but instead they thought they were catching something “cool” on camera that they could post on FB/YouTube/whatever. Disgusting.

These types of fights are so ridiculous. Yes I’ve been in some altercations that were ALL because someone physically attempted to harm me first and I defended myself. I’ve never in my life been the person to start one. I remember back in highschool girls that had issues with each other would basically arrange to fight after school which was just always so strange to me. To actually like have a set place and time that you’re gonna fight someone, which seems like thats what went on with these girls, is just dumb. If someone attacks you, sure fight back but to arrange a fight over some boy?

Its also just weird that a girl would be so embarrassed she lost a fist fight that she would run away from home.. something else has to be going on with her.
