Miranda Lambert stands by Chris Brown comments

Following last year’s Grammy awards in which Chris Brown performed to thunderous applause, the lone reed celebrity who was outspoken about having a problem with celebrating a young man who had beaten a woman was country singer Miranda Lambert.

Miranda was in the audience that evening and tweeted her displeasure with the whole situation. She wrote, “He beat on a girl… not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.” Team Breezy fans gave her heck over voicing her opinion about his infamous actions against Rihanna but she continued to express her opinion at concerts calling Brown an abuser.

Lambert is featured on the cover of the February edition of Redbook and in her interview she refused to back down from her opinion of Brown.

“I didn’t feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don’t agree with the message it’s sending to young women. It’s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don’t think it’s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die.”

Yep, that sounds like the girl who co-wrote and sang “Gunpowder and Lead.” Miranda is nominated for another Grammy this year. This time around it’s Best Country Album for her Four The Record.
