It looks like the folks at TLC have redneckognized the ratings value of Honey Boo Boo and the fam with a beautimous raise!
According to sources with TMZ the raise came zooming in almost as soon as TLC realized what a hit the network had on their hands (and forklift feet). A while back it was reported that Alana and her crew from Georgia were making a mere $5,000 to $7,000 an episode. Now, I know a lot of peeps say, “Heck, I’d like to make that to let folks just film my family,” and so would I but I have to admit my fam’s life is nowhere near as interesting as Mama June’s loves.
So how much of a raise are we talking about? Specifics weren’t mentioned but the salary is now said to be somewhere between $15,000 – $20,000 per episode. In addition, various expenses were covered like a bodyguard and driver for injured Sugar Bear.
TLC also offered to move everybody into a bigger home, maybe one not a few yards off the railroad tracks, but June refused. She wanted to stay in the home seen on the show because they have an important yearly Christmas tradition of decorating the home for the enjoyment of the local community.
Furthermore, agents have been all over the family but June has refused to sign a contract because she doesn’t want making money to be the only reason for the show. She fears that making a deal with an agent would require the family to be apart too much and she ain’t down with that. It’s this refreshing approach and down-home attitude that makes Here Comes Honey Boo Boo so appealing to so many fans.
Just this weekend they headed over to Pell City, Alabama to help support an anti-bullying cause and raise money because they wanted to, not because an agent or the network required it.
