There have been rumors of new ‘Wives for weeks, but now we finally we know who we’ll be seeing on the upcoming season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kenya Moore is one of two new housewives who will be appearing on the fifth season of the hit reality show when it returns to Bravo on November 4th.
Kenya was crowned Miss USA in 1993 and has acted in such flicks as Waiting To Exhale and Deliver Us From Eva. Kenya even appeared alongside the recently-arrested Lindsay Lohan in 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me. Most recently, the new housewife starred in Haitian Nights where she got her first produced-by/director credit.
As busy as she’s been with her acting career, Kenya managed to find time to establish the Kenya Moore Foundation which awards scholarships to under-privileged girls. Oh, and did we mention that she’s also written a book? In 2007, this busy lady published Game, Get Some! which instructs men on how to land the woman of their dreams.
So, how did Kenya get her new gig? Rumor has it that NeNe Leakes had something to do with it. During last July’s Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, the two had hit it off after being introduced by mutual friend Omarosa Manigault and the rest is reality show history.
Back in May, Kenya had all but confirmed to Sister2Sister that she had scored a spot on Real Housewives of Atlanta. “I’ve had an opportunity recently to be on a reality show. I can say that it’s an already established franchise,” she revealed. “I’m back and forth between Atlanta and L.A….primarily Atlanta. Wink, wink!”
Also joining the cast is Porsha Williams-Stewart — find out all you need to know about her here.
