Dalis Connell and Ryan Edwards fly to California to be with her ailing mother

Dalis Connell is getting some serious support from her boyfriend of 15 months, Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards. Bentley’s daddy was by his girlfriend’s side this weekend when she flew to California to be with her mother, who was recently diagnosed with stage III cancer. Though the couple knew the trip would be an emotional one, things took a turn for the worse before they even arrived.

Last Wednesday, an excited Dalis tweeted, “Just got the most amazing news ever! Get to fly out to Cali and see my mom in the hospital! Going to surprise her #staystrongmomma.” Unfortunately, just one day later, Dalis received some heart-wrenching information about her mother. ”They gave my mom 10 months to live. life is so short.. appreciate the people you love! don’t take them for granted,” she revealed.

That Friday, the two boarded a plane to be by Dalis’ mother’s side. “Its 4am and headed to the airport #exhausted,” Ryan tweeted, adding, “California bound with @DalisPaige.” The couple will remain in California until tomorrow afternoon.

Earlier this afternoon, Dalis spoke with Starcasm about her mother’s bleak prognosis. “The nurse told me wrong about how long she has,” Dalis tells us. “The doctor said 3 months.. but the doctor said she has a 10% chance of living longer than that, so that’s what we are holding onto.”

Dalis’ mother was thrilled by the visit, and as one might expect, her daughter’s presence has had a positive effect. “The doctor said since we have gotten out here there has been a little improvement, so it’s amazing to know we are lifting her spirits ”

As for how Dalis has been holding up, she tells us, “Everything is so emotionally draining and heartbreaking, but im trying to stay strong, and Ryan has been more than amazing with his support and making my mom laugh. It’s such an amazing experience.”

During their visit, Dalis was visited by a few of her old friends and also went to the beach with Ryan, where they took a few photos. “Oh how I’ve missed California … #sunsets #nofilter #love,” Dalis tweeted over the weekend. Ryan told fans, “Wish I could ride my motorcycle down PCH.. perfect road!! #cali.”

We wish Dalis and her family all the best during these tough times and applaud her ability to remain strong and positive throughout this difficult ordeal. And kudos to Ryan for being there by Dalis’ side and being a source of strength for her!

The doctors said that since we have been here that they have seen a tiny bit of improvement. She even looks better since when we first got here. This is the first time she met Ryan and she absolutely adores him. He keeps her laughing. It’s been such a humbling experience and im so thankful I was able to come see her and that all my teachers were understanding. It’s been so life changing and my hope will never die. I love you mom. Thank you for staying strong for me.

        My mother died of stage 4 lung cancer in 2008 when I was 21 and there is NO designated visiting hours. You can go as much as you want. They don’t just lock down the hospital.

      Ignorant sweetheart? If you did not read about five comments up, my mother died of stage 4 lung cancer. I know EXACTLY what she is going threw and let me tell you, the four months before she died I was by her side every day unless I was at class. Was it hard? Oh yeah, but as children it is our duty to help our parents as much as we can just as they would us.
      
      Noone wants to be alone while they are dying. People WANT to know they’re cared about and when they are dying it is the time to show it.

  what, just think of how they can look back at the photos.. “oh look, theres us at the beach, looking so happy while my mother was dying” or “man, my butt looks so great in that photo you took from behind of me in my bikini..shame about my mother being in hospital dying though”. yea..I don’t get it. Actually yea, i would expect them to be ‘sitting around’. Not for the next 3 months obviously, but considering its a trip to visit her mother who is dying in hospital, I didn’t expect to see happy pics of them.

The dip lip is so gross! I usually think Ryan is pretty cute, but not lately (especially that awful vest/suit he wore on the reunion show!) Anyways, for as healthy as Dalis is you’d think she would have a problem with his unhealthy habit.

  The girls post there pictures on Instagram (an app where you can share photos with followers) and you can put edits (filters) on the photos to pretty much make the picture look prettier. lol.

Sad but why does she post these PERSONAL INTIMATE photos all over the net.;i don’t get it and seeing her posing all smile at the beach with her boyfriend at the same time..well..her business (although she tweet that) but not my way to spend my time with my mother dying at the hospital..next she will tweet every step of her life..come on..i don’t get it not new newsworthy in the least although i prey and wish her mother to heal and survive this horrible disease.

You can tell it made her mom happy that they came to visit.. from what I gather (twitter world) her and her mom had their issues with one another but as you can see, they’re all smiles and that’s a great thing. Sucks she couldn’t stay in cali that long cuz I believe she has to get back to school, or already has. Dalis and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.. she got to see her mom, be with her and see friends she probably hasn’t seen too often since leaving cali.. im glad they had a good time, they have faith and it doesn’t have to be a time of just negativity… and sadness. Enjoying what time they have left together is what matters and I hope its longer than what the doctors think. No one knows what wishes her mother wanted so she is allowed to go out and see the place she left a while ago and she doesn’t have to feel guilty.. she has nothing to feel guitly about. Idk why people have a problem with her posting pictures and saying whatever update there is… I do it as well.. I don’t see a problem. She hasn’t even tweeted a lot this past week or even two! So really she doesn’t talk about her entire life on social sites at all.
