Rich kids flaunt their wealth and excess on Instagram and Tumblr

The thing that’s making the rounds today is a Tumblr blog that posts Ingram photos of rich kids so filthy wealthy they take baths in champagne and caviar that they got via overpriced bottle service.

There’s something about these photos that doesn’t exactly make the wealth all that enviable. Stay with me for a moment. Say you have millons of dollars, and all you can think to do with it is spent $100,000 at a club? That’s kind of boring.

Okay, but some of these other pics aren’t boring, like riding on elephants, and jetpacks, and yacht water slides.

This is how the the 1% lives, maybe the 0.50% even.

Are their parents (you know, the people who are actually making all this money) happy about it? Not really. Dell CEO Michael Dell shut down his 18-year-old daughter Alexa’s twitter account when a photo of her brother devouring a buffet on the way to Fiji hit the site.

Enjoy. Live vicariously. Pretend you’re in a freakin’ Frank Ocean song.

What’s the big deal! They’re not allowed to post pictures because they have bigger and better?

I agree, it’s not like they’re saying, “Hey, poor kids, look at what I can do!” It’s probably more or less they’re posting for their friends like everyone else does. Besides, how is it more annoying that people posting pictures of their dinner every night?

I think that people should display a certain level of modesty when they are that rich. Even when a celebrity starts to go overboard with the bragging and such on Twitter (where they are fully aware that the vast majority of their followers are impressionable teenagers), I will unfollow them. If I follow someone on twitter it is because I enjoy their acting or their music, not because I want to see their everlasting gluttonus lifestyle. We call it a disease when someone hoards piles of newspapers, or stuff from garage sales, but when people hoard mass amounts of cash we call it wealth. Very upsetting.

i’m french, have been in St-Tropez, have seen it and i can affirm you that the restaurant ticket of Nikki Beach is a fake one.
loads of people think that wealthy people just like throw money away, they don’t.
Nikki Beach is not that expensive – the thing that makes this club so famous is the fact that it’s hard to get in.
and for those that don’t believe me, check the Nikki Beach site : http://www.nikkibeach.com/sttropez/menu.php !

The funny thing is many of these “kids” act like they are the ones who are loaded, no honey mommy and daddy are the ones with the money.
