Blake Fielder-Civil, who is famous for breaking Amy Winehouse’s heart enough for her to create one of the greatest albums of our time, then marrying her and introducing her to drugs, is now in an induced coma after a massive drug overdose. It’s been a little over a year since Amy herself drank herself to death.
Blake was discovered by his partner, and mother of his 15-month-old, Sarah Aspin, who found him choking in his bed last Friday. Thursday he had come home slurring, but was obviously in severe condition by Friday. He was found to have suffered major organ failure, and is currently on life support.
Mitch called for prayer on Twitter “Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery.”
UPDATE August 18, 2012, Blake is still on life support. He was only released from prison two weeks ago, and his mother says his overdose was fueled by a text message he saw on his phone from his late ex-wife Amy Winehouse. Apparently the text was Amy saying that she wanted to be the godmother of his now 15-month-old son Jack.
