Sarah Hyland’s boyfriend robbed in Vegas, puts The Mirage on Twitter blast

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland and her longtime beau Matt Prokop were the target of a Las Vegas robbery over the weekend. The young couple went for a swim, only to return to their seat to find that money had been stolen straight out of Matt’s wallet. The two were fuming mad, and took to Twitter to put the hotel on blast.

Matt, who has starred in Disney hits Hannah Montana and High School Musical, vented his frustrations about the incident just before 11:00pm on Saturday night (July 15). ”Gotta love getting robbed in Vegas… #fml.” He later filled his fans in on the details of the robbery. ”Thanks for the concern about the 1200$ it was stolen out of my wallet while we were in the pool #karmasab!tch,” he explained.

The next day, things were still not resolved and the couple let lose on the hotel that they claim hasn’t done anything. Matt tweeted, “Wow the #Mirage in Vegas sucks security team couldn’t do anything lesson learned NEVER going back!” Sarah added, “You’d think a “four diamond award winning resort” such as @TheMirageLV has security cameras to catch thieves. Won’t ever be staying there.”

Since then, the couple has been communicating with the hotel via email. No word yet if anything has been done about their stolen cash.

In other news, Sarah has something to celebrate — it was announced yesterday that Modern Family earned an impressive 14 Emmy nominations. That should numb the pain a bit.

I don’t care if you’re famous or not, why would you just have $1200 in your wallet and leave it unattended?! It’d be different if the money was taken off his person….

Yeah, let’s just leave a wallet with $1200 in it sitting out in the open while we go swim and then blame the hotel when it gets stolen.

I live in Vegas and anywhere I go I ALWAYS leave any kind of money or valuables in a safe or in my suitcase (locked) and then I would lock that suitcase to a wall fixture (TV mount usually) using a bike cable. I just do that cause I know people go in the room, and who doesn’t know what people steal things at hotels? They prey on tourists. Yea, they’re stupid. Mirage is not responsible for that. They provide safes. Use them next time idiots!
If you plan on gambling, I can understand having that much in cash. What I don’t understand is leaving it unattended.

I agree. Why leave your wallet out, let alone have $1200 CASH in it!? Common sense; this is why you leave your phone in the room. No need for it in the pool.

they probably got robbed by a hooker but they can’t admit to that online… why would anyone bring 1200 to the pool? Lots of guys call escorts and then the escorts rob them in their room…and hotels cant be held responsible if you let someone in your room and they rob you.

If I were robbed by a hooker, I would prob not mention the fact I was robbed on twitter.
