Brooks Ayers to sue ABC for ‘deadbeat dad’ claims on 20/20

Brooks Ayers burst onto the scene as the boyfriend of Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Vicki Gunvalson’s last June. Unfortunately for him, the tabloids got a hold of his rather unsavory background info and all hell broke loose! Brooks’ shady past includes arrests, not paying child support, and two different baby mamas! One of his child’s mothers recently spoke to 20/20 about his ‘deadbeat dad’ behavior and let’s just say, Brooks is not happy. In fact, he’s suing ABC!

During 20/20‘s June 29th airing, Brooks was attacked by his most recent ex-girlfriend, Nicolette Catanzarite. The mother of his three-year-old son claimed he is a ‘deadbeat dad’ who doesn’t see or support his child. She even claimed that he bailed on her and their son shortly after his birth, leaving her with hospital and pediatrician bills.

Upon hearing the news of his ex’s accusations, Brooks hired a leading Beverly Hills attorney to fight back against Catanzarite and ABC for the ”numerous defamatory statements” made against him on the airing. Radar Online reports, “On July 11, Mr. Rufus-Isaacs (Brooks’ attorney) wrote to ABC demanding a retraction of the story and threatening to bring a lawsuit seeking damages for the injury to Mr. Ayers’ reputation.”

In addition to what his attorney is saying, Brooks has released a statement of his own:

“ABC never gave me a reasonable opportunity to tell my side, and therefore the story, which is based on an interview with an ex-girlfriend, contains many mistakes. I am outraged that ABC should behave in this manner.”

What’s even more outrageous is that Vicki is dating someone with child support issues. I don’t know about you but I’m still stuck on how much crap she used to give Slade regarding his child support situation. For her to turn around and date this guy is hypocritical to say the least!

Vicki, who has stuck by Brooks through all of this mess, recently said, “Everyone comes with a little baggage. Find someone who loves you enough to unpack.” Unfortunately, Vicki’s relationship with Brooks has led to many of her family members and friends distancing themselves from her. But hey.. look at the bright side — at least that leaves more space for all of Brooks’ baggage!

Just for the record, Tamra Barney had nothing to do with this article!

Brooks hired an attorney? Or was it Vicki? If he has enough $$$ to hire an attorney, then he has enough $$$ to send to his many kids that he ignores. IF, by some fluke, the “Tank Filler” actually prevails, then he should send his winnings to his many kids that he ignores. Miss Vicki is stepping on very thin ice by protecting that a$$ wipe. Look up the word Hypocrite in the dictionary and Vicki’s picture will be there.

Babbling Brooks has a nose like Pinocchio and no lips. He’s short, bald and lumpy. He’s very smarmy. I wouldn’t sit next to him on a bus, let alone get close to him at a party. Vicki: What makes that creep worth losing your friends, family, and funds over?

All ABC was saying was that CROOKS shouldnt go on national television and have his Girlfriend brag that he bought her a fur coat when he owes child support, I think in the dictionary thats what a deadbeat dad is someone who doesnt pay the money they owe to a child they helped concieve. Vicki is lonely and clearly thinks that she cant do any better, we shouldnt get mad at her we should feel sorry for her. She is old, he looks are long gone and she has control issues of course she was going to end up with a guy like crooks.
PS. Im almost certain that old wind bag fake crying Tamra Barney did help with this article. I dont know how Eddie could be with someone sooooo trashy!

I feel sorry for middle aged women like Vicki who get involved with younger men who are low rent, white trash, alcoholic deadbeats that use them for the free ride. Its so sad these women have no self esteem and settle for such losers. absolutely pathetic and desperate!

If Brooks (or should I say Vicki?) even thinks that hiring an attorney is going to be beneficial to him here, then he is even nuttier than I thought! Does Brooks really think that if this were even possible, Kim Kartrashian would have done it to every single publication and channel in the US!! What an idiot Brooks (and Vicki!!) is! And if ABC does end up paying him money in a character defamation lawsuit –doesn’t he know he’ll need to send that money to his baby mommas!?

Vicki deserves this guy and his lying, scamming ways for what she did to Donn!

  I agree with you. Interestingly, Vicki stated that Tamra wouldn’t be with Eddie if he didn’t have any money. The more important question for Vicki is, Would Brooks be with her if she didn’t have any money?

He thinks ABC should have aired his side? What is to stop him from requesting that now? Oh that is right because you can’t change the facts that you are a deadbeat and up and left your child. He can whine about it all he wants but he dug this hole for himself when he left his children high and dry with no child support while he jet sets around on a TV show acting like he is some rich guy. If you have the money to hire an attorney to sue ABC then you have plenty of money to pay your child support.
My question is if Vicky wants this to all stop then why doesn’t she start paying his child support since they are so “in love”???

At the reunion, part 2, Wimpy apologized to Heather when she called him out for being a jerk to her at her party. I liked that. I also noticed that when Heather ran out to talk to Vicki to return the party, she totally ignored the hillbilly when he protested. When Tamra asked why he felt the need to protect Vicki from an eye roll, he stubbornly stuck to his guns that he was Vicki’s savior. I loved Tamra’s comment, “You’re a man, … act like it!” The absolute best was when Andy stated Brooks was afraid of Brianna! Oooooh! That was rich! At least Crooks knows when to fold ‘em. Vicki is an old fool.
