PHOTOS Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise go for ice cream, begin normal life normally

Do you know the best way to deal with the stress of a multi-million dollar divorce involving a sure-to-be nasty custody battle and the risk of attack from a secretive religious organization with a history of unsavory tactics when dealing with those leaving the fold? That’s right, ice cream!

The big scoop in the Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise divorce case tonight comes served on a cone as Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise enjoyed some ice cream cones on a mother-daughter night out in the city Tuesday evening.

Katie appeared to be in a much better mood than she was after filming Project Runway All Stars yesterday, and Suri was downright vibrant in her colorful floral dress, red shoes, and stuffed animal.

(To be honest, I think Katie Holmes missed a golden opportunity to shape everyone’s headlines for the photos by not ordering a banana split. Or maybe a scoop of Ben and Jerry’s brand new Scientology inspired flavor, “Chubby Hubbard.”)

What’s so wrong with Suri being carried? I personally don’t see anything wrong with that. I’m 20, and momma still lets me sit on her lap. Nothing wrong with that.

Suri always looks so serious. Wonder if that is also b/c of the constant paparazi or being raised in a cult?

I would carry her too. Not only the photogs but the fact that someone could kidnap her and demand millions cause she’s tom&katies daughter.
