VIDEO Teen Mom Episode 5 sneak peek: Catelynn Lowell attends adoption group therapy session

Teen Mom Catelynn Lowell cries talking about placing Carly for adoption

Teen Mom is already four episodes into it’s last season as we watched Farrah Abraham going on her first Florida date with her older neighbor, Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley meeting up for couple’s therapy with less than ideal results, Maci Bookout finally meeting Ryan Edward’s “new” girlfriend Dalis Paige, and Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra reminding us all that although they placed their daughter Carly for adoption, they are still raising adult child Butch Baltierra.

Next week Catelynn goes back to dealing with the emotions surrounding her actual child as she attends a group therapy session with a number of other birth mothers, her and Tyler’s adoption counselor Dawn, and Catelynn’s grandmother Deb!

It’s a very emotional scene as both Catelynn and Deb tear up. Deb’s tears come when she reveals that she was present when Carly was born and got to hold her but Catelynn’s grandfather didn’t have that chance. Catelynn teared up when she revealed that saying goodbye to Carly was the hardest part of the process.

I like Catelynn’s grandmother! Maybe this is an indication we’ll be seeing more of her this season.

Someone we know we’re going to see more of is Butch! Check out this bonus clip from tonight’s episode in which Tyler and Catelynn talk about locking the doors if he doesn’t make it home by curfew.

Also, Catelynn mentions she is watching her weight at the beginning of the clip – something she continues to do with amazing results!

I’ve not seen any of this season as I’m from the UK and we’re currently being shown last season of Teen Mom 2 so I don’t really know what’s been going on. I recently watched Catelynn and Tylers episode of 16&P and while I think they did make the right choice in placing Carly up for adoption I can’t help but feel it was more Tylers decision than Catelynns. They obviously weren’t in a stable enviroment to raise a child but I think Catelynn is affected by the decision a lot more than Tyler. Part of me thinks that their must be so much guilt because even if they hadn’t placed Carly up for adoption they would definetely still have been chosen for Teen Mom and therefore would have quite a bit of money to support their family. I do like both of them an they should be proud of how far they’ve come but I can’t help but think that they could’ve given Carly a really good life with the help of Teen Mom.

KC, I’m not sure if they knew if there’s going to be any Teen Mom. Maybe not, because I think if they knew, they’d want to keep Carly. And yes, I think it was more Tyler’s decision to make an adoption plan. Catelynn would definitely keep the baby if he stopped saying ‘we have to do this, it’s the best thing to do’ and I believe he wanted to place Carly in adoptive family because he didn’t feel the baby kicking and he wasn’t actually pregnant. But after she was born, he suffered enough and missed her as much as Catelynn did,so I don’t blame him.
Well, for sure giving Carly to Brandon and Teresa wasn’t a bad choice, it was very selfless decision. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, a child shouldn’t be raised in a toxic environment, like around April and Butch.
PLUS, they’re real role models for young people who decide to give their child for adoption. They show us that you really are a mother/father even if you’re not a parent and that having a child can change your life and make you a better, more ambitious person.
