Maci Bookout Us Weekly

The final season of MTV’s Teen Mom premieres tomorrow night and Maci Bookout sat down with Us Weekly to talk about some of the things we can expect to see in the next few months, what it was like sending Bentley to daycare, and how much she has changed over the last four years.

Maci says early in the clip, “The last season, I think for all the girls, especially me, you just finally see us as women. You know, the past couple of seasons we’ve been transforming from teens, trying to figure out how to become real adult women.” Watching Maci talk I have to confess that is the exact impression I got. The Maci Bookout talking to us in this clip is an adult.

But Maci isn’t the only one continuing to grow up! Maci talks about how all the babies are “little people” now, running around talking. She says Bentley was miked up for every taping this season, as you might could tell from the famous Teen Mom Season 4 trailer scene in which Bentley could be heard repeating the declaration, “Hell no!”

And not only is Bentley old enough to be talking all the time, he’s also old enough to go to daycare. “Him going to daycare was terrible,” Maci says. “I wanted him to go so he would have a couple days of the week where he was just playing all day and could meet kids his age,” she explains. “I [set up care so I] could focus on school, but at the same time, I’m used to having him in my pocket all day every day. The first few days were rough on both of us.”

So what about Maci’s relationship with Bentley’s father Ryan Edwards? “Co-parenting with Ryan is getting better. We’ve done pretty well over the past year. I mean, we still obviously have arguments and things, but … we’re on the same schedule we’ve always been on … we’ve just avoided any confrontation or any drama and just left each other alone.”

And how about her relationship with Kyle King? “Honestly it kind of goes backwards from what I’m sure people are expecting. We grow. We ended up buying a house together. Pretty much we were on the same track that we always were.” But what about their split? “They don’t show much of our break up because that was after we had finished filming.”

So how did she break the news of her break up with Kyle to Bentley? “I really didn’t tell him anything about me and Kyle breaking up, I just told him that we were going to move into a different house.” And how did Bentley take the transition? “He’s actually handled it pretty well.”

“It’s all bittersweet, but I’m ready to move on,” Maci says of the end of Teen Mom, “and let people realize I’m not a teenager any more. I’m actually an adult – like a woman. [she laughs] I’m not 16.”

I feel she has grown up the most (besides Catelynn). She’s been my favorite from the start and I wish her, Bentley, and Ryan nothing but the best!

She is a narcissitic twit. If anyone in this relationship has grown it has been Ryan. She has yet to accomplish anything with her education, she doesn’t work, and what happened to the book she was writing? Exactly. She was luckier than the others because she had a father who took responsibility, her family was always willing to keep Bentley as well as Ryan’s and she still has done nothing. If any of these girls can be said to have grown or matured it would be Farrah and no one else. At least Farrah works.

agreed! Ryan has a job and is providing for Bentley, he’s even providing more emotional care now too and all Maci can say is “oh he lives with his parents” yeah well its better than wasting money renting and the right thing to do in this economic climate, not to mention more stable than moving around with a new boyfriend every couple of months.

        • Kaylie

Ryan actually has his own apartment now. He might be rooming with a friend, but I am 100% sure he doesn’t live with his parents anymore.

        100% agree.

Maci is lucky Amber is on her season or she would look the worst! Farrah and Maci had supportive families and Farrah was able to finish college, go on to grad school, write a book and move away from home. Maci has spent the 3 years moving around, dropping classes and dating. Catelynn had very little support from family and was able to accomplish more then Maci. I hope Maci keeps taking baby steps and will be able to get a degree before she buys another house with a new man!

It really bothers me that she thinks she is some great role model. She goes out partying/vacationing every chance she gets, underage drinks, smokes, doesn’t have a job, is on year 5 of getting an assosiates degree she STILL doesn’t have, and has a holier-than-thou attitude that you can sense from a million miles away. She’s not THAT great of a mother. There are plenty of mothers that go to school full time, work full time, and STILL have to raise their kids every day of the month. Not to mention that MOST mothers work actual jobs where they have to leave home and afford babysitters when they do.

I just hate people who flaunt single-motherhood in general. I get that it’s hard, but nobody should flaunt that your relationship failed. Not to be ignored that they never seem to mention how they talk crap about their kid’s father to them, or how separated parents creates life-long problems for a lot of kids. People like Maci and Kail can be used as exhibit A and B.

It’s not that people are flaunting it, it is just their 24 hour a day reality. It’s bound to come up in conversation. As for life long problems being brought on by having a single parent household is ridiculous. Problems are brought on by lots of things. I can point out lots of loser drug addicts with 2 good parents, but I won’t go around saying that “2 parent households cause lifelong problems.”

    • Really?

I am not saying Maci is an amazing person or perfect parent, but I think the fact that you are all basing her “success” off of if she has a job or degree, etc., is a bit ridiculous. Bentley is doing well, and A LOT of that has to do with Maci. Her biggest success right now is how she has raised Bentley. Plus, there are tons of things we do not know about her life or what she does. There are plenty of ways to be successful. Stop judging so harshly.

      • Really?

Not to mention, what exactly has Catelynne accomplished besides graduating from high school late? That’s all she’s done as far as I can see. Does she even have a job? If anyone doesn’t seem to be doing anything, it seems she is the one.

        • lovelula

im pretty sure catelynn was working with the adoption agency that adopted out carly.

    • uh

      nothing about her multiple boyfriends??????????

      • catherine

Heey she hasnt had Mutiply BFs she has had one and that is Kyle so dont even say anythis

    • Amber

Maci isn’t perfect, but she cares so much for Bentley. Haters need to stop hating and just leave her alone. I would like to see how all of you haters would handle yourselves if it happened to you and your lives were filmed 24/7 and learning how to become an adult. Maci has done a great job. I do think her and Ryan need to try and work things out again. You can tell they love each other even today.
