Charlie’s got a new job playing an anger management counselor on a new FX called Anger Management, and he totally realizes he was in denial about being out of control last year. He still drinks vodka though. And he still says things like “I am Jaws. I am the alter ego of the shark.” He must have gotten a transfusion of shark blood to even out the tiger blood a bit.
But shark alter egos aside, Charlie now sees the irony of his “winning” campaign. He said in the new issue of Rolling Stone:
“Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he’s off on some f**king tour, there’s nothing ‘winning’ about any of that. I mean, how does a guy who’s obviously quicksanded, how does he consider any of it a victory? I was in total denial.”
He seems to be off the hard drugs, but Charlie still refuses to give his liver a break:
“I mean, the s**t works. Sorry, but it works. Anyway, I don’t see what’s wrong with a few drinks. What’s your drink? Tequila? Mine’s vodka. Straight, because I’ve always said that ice is for injuries, ha ha.”
He’s also now back to being best buddies (NOT bed buddies, they sleep in different rooms) with ex-wife Denise Richards, who guest stars on his new show. That’s always a good sign. Charlie always stays close to Denise when he’s not flipping out. When he does go over the edge, though, he attacks her like a freakin’ shark-tiger
Anger Management debuts June 28 on FX 2 9pm. Could be a good show. The latest issue of Rolling Stone is on newsstands now.
