VIDEO Dad puts child in washing machine at a Laundromat

Laundromat security camera catches dad putting his child inside a washing machine

Let me start out by staying the child in this video reportedly suffered only minor injuries (miraculously) and is fine.

That being said, check out this early contender for 2012 Parental Fail of the Year as a laundromat security camera catches a dad placing his young child inside of an upright washing machine and closing the door as an apparent joke. Mom seems amused as she stands off to the side. But, panic sets in as the washing machine starts up and they are unable to open the door!

Water begins to pour in and the machine begins to spin with the child inside as both parents frantically attempt to open it up. The dad eventually runs off to get an attendant, who arrives (after what seems like hours) and shuts the machine off. The dad is hopping around maniacally as the attendant struggles to get the door open. He eventually succeeds and rescues the child, passing him/her to dad.

UPDATE: Police are currently looking for the parents of this child for questioning, not for arrest, but to make sure that the child is, in fact, fine.

Whoa.

I’m conflicted here…what they did was wrong on so many levels…and there is never an excuse for such outright stupidity but, at the same time, you can see the panic set in and you realize that no malice was intended. So on the one hand I just want to punch both of the parents…and on the other, I kinda feel for them.

Does anyone know if they were investigated by CPS after the incident was made public?

If the child had died which thank god it didnt..nobody would be saying they meant no harm! Maybe they did it with no malintent but seriously how and WHY would putting a baby into a washing machine seem like a good idea to any sensible human being?!? Not tryin to start a fight i just feel for that poor baby i hope this wakes the parents up to being more careful! That lil person is precious not a toy :/

As we all know now those two were not the parents of that child. The women was infact the babysitter and the bloke was with her. What he did was wrong and he should be charged for reckless endangerment of a minor and so should the babysitter for standing back and watching him do it. he had just finished a load of washing so should have known that it started automatically. Im just glad the kid is safe and sound (so far anyway).
