Amber Portwood given yet another chance, released from jail

It’s been said that America is a land of 2nd chances, for Teen Mom Amber Portwood it’s seemingly even more forgiving as she has once again been given the opportunity to straighten her life out.

Amber was placed back in jail for missing a mandated drug court appearance in which she allegedly lied about the reason for her absence. In spite of warnings from the court that not following strict sentencing guidelines would likely cause Portwood to serve serious jail time the judge has once again shown mercy, releasing the troubled reality star back to home detention.

The judge simply requested that Amber continue with her drug rehabilitation treatment and find a real job. In all fairness, considering Amber is in home detention in Anderson, IN I can see where finding gainful employment could be difficult considering her local notoriety and reputation.

Amber also recently revealed that she’s been addicted to pills since she was 13-years-old.

Seriously? Again? If it were me any other normal person we would be behind bars for the drugs alone. She needs to spend some time in jail. She will never learn if they keep going light on her.

Actually if it was a “normal” person that is not necessarily true I do have a friend who has managed to slip through every crack in the system and it is really sad that people keep doing this. Amber clearly needs help and one day it WILL all catch up with her. If she continues to get 2nd 3rd and 15th chances then she will never ever learn. The only way for her to learn is for her to get caught and the judge is stupid in not recognizing that!

My brother is an ex addict, but when he was still using he was put in jail for months, and he at the time had only one previous charge. He went back a few times and It took him years to quit, but I fully believe putting him in jail all those times helped him to get on track. I guess we’ve just had different experiences. I think it’s especially terrible that she gets off easy when she has not only drug charges but domestic violence charges. I sincerely believe that going to jail for a while will help her get her act together in the long run.

People need to quit treating this girl with kid loves and show her some tough love. She is going to end up hurting herself at this rate, be it accidental or intentional.

shes going to have a hard time finding a job since shes been convicted of several crimes. maybe the judge is trying to teach her a lesson by making her find a job, she’ll realize how hard it is when you have a criminal record. but im sure if she ever does get an interview the judge will take her off of house arrest to go. and jobs are mostly applied for on the internet so i dont see how being on house arrest would hurt her that much. but im sure she’ll use it as an excuse.

I am not a lawyer but I worked in a law office for a couple of years. In *some* cases involving electronic monitoring/house arrest/home detention, the individual is allowed out under tightly controlled circumstances. I’m sure she would have to get pre-approval from her monitoring officer for a certain time frame to go to interviews and/or work but she would have to be responsible and communicate all the details of her destination…no side trips to the ice cream store or whatever.
It’s not easy, but it is possible. She just has to take initiative and responsibility.

Screw her, I’m moving to Anderson! I can run amok all over that town and with the judges there that hand out little if any jail time I will own that place
