PHOTOS Will Mackenzie Douthit be on Teen Mom 3? Camera crew seen at her prom!

When I was compiling prom photos for the cast members of 16 and Pregnant Season 4 (see the post here) there were a couple photos I didn’t see. Check out the photos above and below in which there is clearly a woman in the background carrying a camera very similar to those used by MTV!

MTV appears to be filming Mackenzie Douthit for Teen Mom 3

Mackenzie didn’t appear to have a sound man, but otherwise it looks like a similar set up don’t you think?

Before you get too excited, let’s all remember that MTV does do “catch up” shows and it could be that they just wanted to capture Mackenzie, Josh, and their son Gannon at the big event for that. That being said, Mackenzie certainly figures into our projected formula that predicted either her or Katie Yeager (premiere episodes) along with Alex Sekella (90 minute episode) and Kristina Head (finale) would be three of the four girls chosen for the new Teen Mom installment.

Plus, Mackenzie has a charismatically wonderful attitude, a baby daddy who is still in the picture, and a very loving and supporting family – just what the doctor ordered for an MTV franchise that has come under fire in the media the last couple years for featuring young girls like Amber Portwood and Jenelle Evans, who often make headlines for some rather unsavory actions.

What do you think? Do MTV cameras at Mackenzie’s prom mean they are looking at her for Teen Mom 3? And if so, what do you think of their choice?

The girls from this season of 16 & pregnant have been dying for attention and fame. Girls were making fan pages for them months before the season even aired. These girls shouldn’t have fan pages for getting pregnant at such a young age. The original purpose of this show was to show the struggles of a teen mother but now these girls use the show to get famous and make money. Its pathetic.

  Yes! I completely agree! Why are these girls getting fan pages for being pregnant at 16? I have nothing against these girls because most of them, like Katie Yeager seem like pretty good mom’s but come on-you’re getting fame for being pregnant at 16. I don’t get it at all. Oh well.

For the sake of everyone, the moms, the babies, and viewers, MTV needs to stop Teen Mom. It’s way past bringing light to teen pregnancy.

  Why dont you do your RESEARCH and see that teen pregnancy is DOWN and it started going DOWN when these shows started. So before you embaress yourself further, get your head out of your ass and research your claims first.

    i agree with you jeff. the number of teen pregnancies have gone down since these shows started airing. and the girls who do choose to get pregnant just to get the fame im sure have issues of their own. i wouldn’t want to be on a reality show because i dont want people knowing all my business and especially if i was a teen mom. if they wanted the fame im sure they have a reality check when they find out how much of a negative thing fame can be.

    I have read research and yes teen pregnancy is going down. But no where does it say that a show on MTV is the reason for the decrease in teen pregnancy . It is easier to get birth control now and there are more comprehensive sex ed classes in school.
    
    If anything 16 & pregnant glamorize pregnancy. I am 21 and I have friends who got pregnant our freshman year in college (which was right after the first season of 16 & pregnant aired) because they saw how cute babies can be and didn’t really see the consequences of getting pregnant so young. Not to mention, now all of the girls on Teen Mom end up in tabloids and make huge profits off of their unplanned pregnancy.

    Ashley didn’t say anything about the teen pregnancy rate, so how she would be embarrassing herself is beyond me. Sure, this show *might* be helping to reduce teen pregnancy, but in fact, some studies have suggested that although the overall teen pregnancy rate has dropped, the *PLANNED* teen pregnancy rate has risen (which would suggest that the amount of teen girls who are actively *trying* to get pregnancy is also rising). If this show causes even 1 young girl to intentionally get pregnant, when she otherwise would not have wanted to, then that’s 1 too many. No matter how you slice it, these children (moms and babies alike) are being exploited, in order for a big-time network to turn a profit. I used to love 16&P and TM, but seriously, think about the fact that there were around 2000 girls that applied for the last 3 16&P seasons, then consider that around 20% of teen pregnancies are *PLANNED*- that’s applications from around 600 *PLANNED* teen pregnancies, over the past 3 seasons- probably more, considering most teens (or their parents) who have just found out that they (or their teen) is pregnant, aren’t going to want to shout it out to the world!

Jordan and her sister is going to be so angry. She obviously wanted to be on TM, she kept tweeting that no one had been chosen yet. The sad thing is that she probably would have been chosen if she hadn’t gotten pregnant again. I feel like most of last seasons girls were lovely, but none of them are memorable. Every girl so far in this season has been really sweet and nice. I REALLY want to see Lindsay and Katie in TM3, they were my favourites so far :]

  Jordan said she didn’t want to be on TM. Also they didn’t do it for their season because of the multiple 2nd pregnancies (Jordan, Danielle, and Kianna) and most of the moms having legal trouble (Jennifer, Jamie, Danielle, Cleondra, Kianna, ) I’m not sure if Taylor or Allie were arrested, but Jordan, Izabella, and Kayla are the only ones for sure not arrested. I don’t blame them for not doing TM 3 on any of them, but season 2B would have been fun to watch some of them!

Yes, shes on Teen Mom 3. A friend of mine lives in her hometown and has seen camera crews following her around for awhile after her 16&Pregnant episode aired.

I hope so!! I liked her I think her, her family and her bf seem very down to earth. They seem cute, dedicated, and just all around good people

Yes, she will be on Teen Mom. My cousin lives in Miami, Oklahoma and I’ve seen her film quite a few times, myself.
I’d personally like to see Katie, Briana, Alex and Sarah on TM3, though.

Ughh I hope not. Her episode was so boring. Reminded me of Nikkole who also I’m not a huge fan of. I really liked Briana and her story. Sweet girl and really relatable.

Big mistake to turn this into a people’s choice contest now that the “criteria” has become obvious. I hate the way the 16 & Pregnant cast is basically just trying out for the role and everyone amps up the drama. It perverts the whole thing.

I agree with Ashley!! take a hint MTV.. I still watch because it makes for interesting tv, but haven’t we all heard from other past cast members that a lot of it is scripted? So all the backlash they got on the show is scripted, yet they have all these fanpages showing how WONDERFUL life is with their childreb.. bias message don’t you think?

I’m sick of hearing that the teen pregnancy rate has dropped, let’s be real here. This show does in a sense glorify teen pregnancy, not by the show, but off television. Fanepages, blogs, etc..

I did not like her episode at all. It was the first episode that the glamour argument can actually be valid, in my opinion. The only “struggle” she had was whether or not she could go back to cheerleading or not.

Also, I totally think she got pregnant on purpose. It seems pretty obvious and shame on MTV for putting her on the Teen Mom 3.
