VIDEO Angela Stanton details criminal history with Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida

Angela Stanton accuses Phaedra Parks of criminal behavior

Atlanta super lawyer and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks raised eyebrows in November of 2009 when she married ex-convict Apollo Nida, who was found guilty of racketeering in 2004 for his part in an auto title scheme. (You can read all the details of Apollo’s conviction HERE)

Now Angela Stanton, who claims to be a former close friend of Phaedra Parks, is publishing a book titled Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil in which she alleges Phaedra Parks was also in on the auto title scam, as well as insurance fraud! She sat down for an exclusive two-part interview with Vibe in which she gave a detailed account of Phaedra Parks’ role in the scams. Here is part one:

UPDATE – CLICK HERE for parts 2 and 3 in which Angela picks up with her arrest and talks about how Phaedra left her out to dry.

UPDATE - After remaining quiet all day, Phaedra Parks has finally responded to Angela Stanton’s allegations on Twitter, stating, “The interview circulating is a lie. My attys @bjbernstein & @LLinWood will deal w/this false & defamatory interview swiftly.”

RHOA Phaedra ParksWow! That is a very detailed account! (I’ll transcribe what Angela Stanton said and include it below for those of you unable to watch the clip)

Normally I’m rather dismissive when “old friends” of overnight celebrities come out of the woodwork with a book making all sorts of allegations, but you are really putting yourself on the line if you accuse someone of committing an actual crime – especially an attorney! And Miss Stanton was not vague at all in her accusations – she provided very specific details, which is usually another indicator someone is telling the truth.

I suppose we will know a lot more as soon as we get an official reaction from Phaedra Parks. Of course it will all come down to whether or not Angela Stanton has any hard evidence to back up her claim, which if she doesn’t, this interview and her book will have been the worst decision she has ever made, because Phaedra will take her to the cleaners for libel!

In the first part of the interview Angela Stanton talks about her troubled early life and how she and Phaedra Parks met through rapper Drama, a client of Phaedra’s, in 1999. Soon after, they became good friends, and that’s when the alleged criminal partnership began.

“After about a year or so, I guess she became a little more comfortable with our relationship and that’s when she introduced me to Apollo. Once she introduced me to Apollo, it was strictly a business relationship that the two of them had. And at that time, they were remaking fraudulent insurance checks.”

“And of course I was the one that would go into the bank with the identifications, deposit the check, and then go back to the bank and withdraw the money, whether it was $27,000, $30,000.

“This went on for about two years, and then I ended up catching a charge and getting locked up for forgery, and I ended up going to prison. On my first trip to prison, I only did four months, but while I was away at prison, Apollo had also got arrested. So when he got arrested and got banged up and moved to County, and I finally got out after doing my four months, Phaedra and I got back together again.

“This time she introduced me to Everett [I’m not certain of the spelling], which is Apollo’s brother, and we were all involved in the federal racketeering scheme against the federal government – stealing Porches, Hummers, Cadillacs, Corvettes, any hot whip at that time – you name it, we had it. We would basically go to the car lot and write down the VIN numbers of the vehicles that we felt as if we wanted to keep or would make a good sale.

“Once we recorded the numbers down off of the VIN, we would take them back to Phaedra and Everett, and once they had it they would make a fake identification card and a registration card to match the vehicle.

“The next day you could take the ID and the registration card and go to another car dealership and tell them that this is your vehicle and they’ll cut you a key for a fee of $185.

“Well, once we had the key, we would then go back to the car dealerships after the dealership closed and drive off with whatever car we picked earlier.

“After that they would get sent off to the chop shop. Once everything was cleaned up, we would take the title and swap the titles out for Georgia titles, then take them to another car dealership, trade the car in for another car of lesser value, and walk away with the money.

“Everything had been going fine in our relationship for probably about three to four years, until this last incident, and I was seven months pregnant with my daughter. My cousin was going to the DMV to trade in one of the titles [and] she got banged up at the DMV.

“So an auto theft detective by the name of Pete McFarlane [sp?] questioned her, but eventually released her. When she finally made it to me and told me everything that happened, I immediately called Phaedra and Everett, and my first concern was where do we stand now with the project, and how are we going to proceed?

“Phaedra told me that we should proceed with what we had. Everett said that we would leave in the morning as well. So we left that next morning headed to Tennessee with three of the luxury vehicles., and this is where I was arrested. This is where Everett was arrested.

“Because it was a federal case and I hadn’t been in any federal trouble, I went back to state prison, while Everett went back to federal custody along with Apollo.

“Once I was incarcerated, the plan and the agreement was always that she would always represent all of us if we ever got into any trouble, and that’s what I expected. I expected her to represent me. I expected her to look out for me. I expected her to look out for my children if something were to happen. I expected her to do everything that she said she was going to do because I did everything that I said I was going to do.

“I never told. I ended up getting five years in the state…”

Vibe will be posting the second part of the interview later today.

The statement that this young women made does not sound too far off. Phaedra is without a doubt an intelligent woman, therefore, I feel she was the brains in this racketeering scheme. She was also law savy enough to cover herself from any criminal charges. Two snaps

WOW!!!! If this is a false story, she has been rehearsing it as though was a movie. This sister didn’t even blink while telling this. It seems believable.

I agree, she’s got her story together. It’s not far fetched. She never hesitates & she know’s Apollo’s case real well. Phaedra’s a good Lawyer, I would thing she’d be screaming from the mountain tops and every news program that would listed. This sounds credible

I think their is some truth to this, she is very detailed with the Scheme, she obliviously its telling now because Phaedra left her out to dry and now Apollo got locked up again for the bank fraud and I am almost sure Phaedra was in on it. I guess shes got to pay for Mr. Presidents parties some how.
