Navy SEAL Team 6 is not to be messed with

We don’t do straight up news here too often but I think we’ve got a group of global “stars” on our hands in the form of Navy SEAL Team 6.

It’s pretty common knowledge that it’s best not to go toe to toe with a Navy SEAL. Their training and abilities are stuff of legend and now the team responsible for having killed Osama bin Laden has done it again, this time rescuing two hostages from Somalian pirates.

Just before President Obama’s State of the Union Address last night the Commander-in-Chief learned that elite special forces group Navy SEAL Team 6’s operation to rescue American aid worker, Jessica Buchanan (32), and a Danish aid worker, Poul Hagen Thisted was successful and that several of their kidnappers were terminated in the process.

The President was able to contact Buchanan’s father and inform him that his daughter, who had been held captive since October, was safe and on her way home. Obama stated:

“As Commander-in-Chief, I could not be prouder of the troops who carried out this mission, and the dedicated professionals who supported their efforts.”

Vice President Joe Biden stated that the decision to move was based on reports of Buchanan’s declining health. Once they received their orders SEAL Team 6 parachuted into the hostile zone and did what they do, took care of business.

Obama added:

“The United States will not tolerate the abduction of our people, and will spare no effort to secure the safety of our citizens and to bring their captors to justice. This is yet another message to the world that the United States of America will stand strongly against any threats to our people.”

No U.S. troops were killed or harmed during this operation. Hats off to the brave men and women who coordinate and serve for Navy SEAL Team 6.
