Christina Aguilera to haters: ‘I love my body’

When pop diva Christina Aguilera hit the stage at the AMA awards with Maroon 5 wearing the above ultra-form fitting dress she received a serious backlash from haters about her weight. Some went as far as to question if the Dirty singer was pregnant for a second time.

At the recent NBC TCA for The Voice Aguilera addressed all these comments about her weight and figure. The 31-year-old said:

“I’ve been on all spectrums. I’ve been in this business for a long time. I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old. You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too perfect, too thin, too curvy, voluptuous, this, that. I’ve been on all sides of the spectrum as far as any female in this business.”

The mom of 3-year-old Max acknowledged that women are, “”definitely under a microscope and under massive scrutiny.” She showed the maturity of someone who’s been in this spotlight for a long time. She added:

“As long as I’m happy in my own skin, that’s all I need. I’m happy with where I’m at. I have a boyfriend that loves my body. I love my body. My son is healthy and happy. That’s all that matters.”

I think that with her AMA performance a majority of the criticism was more about her wardrobe choice than weight but Christina reminded everyone that she’s never been afraid to “go there” fashion wise:

“I think my video works over the years have spoken to that… As you know, ‘Dirty’ and so on, and ‘Lady Marmalade.’ I’ve been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin to take those risks, to take those chances.”

Christina has never lacked confidence. As for this issue and these comments I think that’s a good thing.

Sure, she loves her body because right now she’s trap and has to say that to justify her weight gain! Watch how later on she will enroll in one of those programas like weight watchers or Nutri—

        You’re an idiot.

If you’re more full figured don’t act like u still weigh 105. I think that’s why she gets all this criticism because she’s still wearing these ridiculously tiny outfits that don’t flatter her figure whatsoever.

Good for her for saying something! She may be bigger than she used to be but she definitely isn’t fat! People criticize way too much, and then wonder why teenage girls are deathly ill because they starve themselves or binge and throw up their food. Women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful, and we should all just embrace that.

Good for her. I’m glad gaining weight hasn’t made her lose any of her confidence. It’s interesting that Hollywood standards deem her “fat” when, in reality, she’s still smaller than the average American woman (dress size 12 – 14).

Wow, she’s porked up. Get her off the stage.

That’s fat? What’s your wife look like?

i’m glad she’s comfortable in her own skin, but she needs to dress for her size NOW, not what size she was when she broke on to the music scene. wearing unflattering clothes make her look heavier than she is.

I think christina looks great. She feels comfortable with her body and it shows!!! i think teenage girls should look up to christina as a role model instead of people like leah messer from teen mom 2. I’d rather see teenagers who are a little bit on the chunkier side and comfortable with their body than someone who had twins at 17, married at 18, divorced AND pregnant with another guys kid at 19

Nothing wrong with her gaining weight but the skin tight outfits that do not flatter her new figure need to go. She wouldn’t get so much hate for it if she didn’t wear what she did.
