As the 4th season of MTV’s ground-breaking documentary series 16 and Pregnant approaches, we are slowly learning names of some of the girl that will be featured. (So far we have Katie Yeager and Alexandria Sekella.) Another name that we can almost add to the list is 18-year-old Kia Pence of Minooka, Illinois. I say almost because Kia was “kicked off” thanks to her brother’s unedited drunken ramblings in his interview video.
Kia revealed why she didn’t make the show through an admin on her official Facebook fan page. Here’s the status update explaining what happened:
Kias’ exact words why [she] wont be on the show: “because certain things were said on our interviews that werent edited out before we sent it in. my older brother was a little tipsy and said sh!t he thought was funny which it was if you knew him but then his stupid a** forgot to edit it out and yeahh.” so now you guys know why [Kia] wont be on the show 
Oh man – I’m sure there are millions of girls out there with older brothers like that! And Kia, if you’re legally allowed to, I’m sure everyone would love to see his interview! (And yours for that matter.)
Anyways, here’s what we would have found out on her episode if it weren’t for big brudder…
Kia Nicole Pence is an 18-year-old single mom originally from Maumee, Ohio and currently living in Minooka, Illinois where she is currently employed at McDonald’s. Her son Tristan James Pence was born on April 19th, 2011 at 4:22 PM and weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces. Her Facebook pages (fan page and personal page) hardly reference Tristan’s father at all, but Kia does mention him quite a bit on her MySpace page – apparently from when things were better between the two:

Daniel reciprocated on his MySpace page with these adoring remarks:
Kia, its been only two months, you have helped my get through all my problems and make me want to make something out of myself. Your my dream girl. All of my imperfections, you looked past and made me see myself and who i am. I love you more then the world already and i’ve fallen for you the hardest that i have ever fallen before. Everytime i see you, you take my breath away. I get rid of my depression and my anger. I can never be mad and you just cheer me. Your are the most beautiful thing in the world, and when i look at you i see sunsets and i feel like im lying in a field with nothing but us and the world. Its been a day since we started dating and ii want to spend my life with you. You are gorgeous, and i love you with all my heart. 1-13-10.

When Tristan turned six months Kia provided an update on her relationship with Daniel on Facebook:
My son is six months old today(: six months ago i thought i would be with his father now, in school and working, i left his dad, im not in college yet and i am working. but everything happens for a reason and even though i get frustrated i wouldnt change having Tristan James Pence for the world♥
Apparently this was yet another example of the strain of having a child being too much for the relationship. But, it appears as though Kia does have a lot of support from her friends, especially best pal Becca-Ruth, who even posed with Kia and Tristan in their studio portraits!
Best of luck to Kia and Tristan. Let’s hope they’re both able to forgive Tristan’s uncle for his interview gaff!
