Rapper Tyler the Creator (Tyler Okonma) was taken into police custody last night around 11:30 PM after he destroyed some sound equipment at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, where he had performed earlier that night, TMZ reports. He was arrested in front of his mother on suspicion of vandalism. No word yet on why Tyler was presumably so upset.
Earlier this year 20-year-old Tyler won best new artist at the MTV Music Video Awards. He also wore the most amazing tie-died cat t-shirt on the planet.
UPDATE: Tyler used his Twitter account to deny arrest reports, but LASD released the above mug shot with this statement: Tyler “was booked for Felony Vandalism and later released on a $20,000 bond.”
