Fred Durst signs ‘Douchebag’ deal with CBS

Fred Durst to star in Douchebag sitcom

Before all you hard core Limp Bizketeers get all up and arms about the douchebag header let me assure you that it has nothing to do with Fred Durst’s self-proclaimed rep.

According to Deadline Hollywood the lead singer renowned for his song “Nookie” and wearing a red hat backwards has signed a script deal with CBS for a sitcom that has the working title of “Douchebag.” He has partnered with CBS TV Studios-based producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum on a half-hour comedy project, that he will star in and produce. The concept has received what they call in the industry a “script commitment.”

So what is Fred Durst the “Douchebag” all about you ask? Well the concept of this situational comedy centers around a rock legend, this means it is not autobiographical, who is trying to maintain a balance between his superstar public persona and his attempts at trying to raise a family.

"Douchebag" Fred Durst

Durst has made previous cameos in films such as Zoolander, Be Cool and Pauly Shore Is Dead. He’s also got experience with the parenting part of the script as he’s a father to two children, teenage daughter Adriana and son Dallas. Just in case you forgot, L.B.’s Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water became the fastest-selling rock album of all time. It also has the dubious distinction of being rated the worst album title of all time by Cracked.com.

There’s no time table yet as to when we may see Fred Durst’s “Douchebag.” But when “Douchebag” as portrayed by Fred Durst hits the airwaves we’ll be sure to let you know. Until then let me leave you with his band’s song “Douche Bag” from their Gold Cobra album that hit the shelves in June of this year.

Tune needs this sticker slap of course:
