Confirmed: April and Butch Baltierra divorce over domestic violence issues

Some sad news in Teen Mom land. Catelyn Lowell’s mom and step-dad (and Tyler Baltierra’s dad and step-mom) Butch (full name Darl Lynn Baltierra) are divorcing over domestic abuse issues, according to Catelynn’s official Facebook page. UPDATE: Catelynn also confirmed to starcasm.net that they’re getting a divorce.

The page issued a statement addressing status updates April made last night on her personal Facebook page accused Butch of hitting women, and their impending divorce. Many fans who are friends with that account suspected that it was hacked, but Catelynn’s Facebook Page (which includes April as an admin, and is approved by Catelynn) says that the account was not hacked, Butch did hit April, and they are going to seek divorce.

From the Page:

April’s profile was not hacked.. She posted a couple status’s last night about Butch & him hitting her.. She will be on later today to clear everything up for you guys who read them on her profile.. Please keep her in your thoughts as she says they are getting a divorce after this time.. If you have anything negative to say keep it to your selves now is NOT the time!

Here are the comments that were posted on April’s personal page:

I am single. Getting a divorce. Butch [is?] a d*ck let me know!”

“darl baltierra [likes] too beat women”

“butch likes to hit women now hes [on] his way to JAIL”

There are reports that Amber Baltierra’s personal Facebook says Butch beat April while high. Butch has a long history of substance abuse, and was seen going to court ordered rehab on Season 2 of Teen Mom after a domestic altercation. Someone called the cops during April and Butch’s fight, and he was found to have violated his parole. April told the cops Butch hit her, and they issued a no contact order. He violated that order in rehab (by calling April,) and was sent back to jail. During Season 3, which is currently airing, Butch was released from jail. Even though released, he was still required to stay away from April until December 2011.

It’s always sad to hear of divorce, but if there is domestic violence involved, it’s necessary for the one being abused to take care of their health, sanity, and personal safety. Stay strong Catelynn and Tyler!

UPDATE: Here’s a statement from April’s Fan Page declaring strength, and asking for privacy: “April is a strong women. She has alot of supporters, friends, and family. She will make it through this! She has asked not to talk about the divorce until further notice.”

what a sad situation. it amazes me that catelynn and tyler have been able to rise above all of this and break the cycle. both butch and april have had problems with drugs and alcohol for years. they were a bad pair from the beginning.

I hope this doesn’t have a negative effect on catelynn and Tyler’s relationship. Also It is apparent that They made the right choice for Carly. They should be proud of themselves it is hard step away from the negative of your family to become a good and happy adult.

First thing, this will probably put Catlynn and Tyler in a bad situation. Catlynn is going to be feeling sorry for her mom and while tyler understands that he also knows that they are both drugies and that is why this has happend and he is going to feel sorry for his dad. Big things to come for them I guess.. As for April and Butch. They need to open their eyes and see what their main priority is. I mean can parents really stay that messed up all the time. Everytime I look at them they look messed up. One day they will open their eyes and see what is and what is not important to them in life. Untill this God be with them. I hope Tyler and Catlynn makes the best of their relationshi. They are great together!! Your all in my prayers!

Not that domestic violence is ever ok, but if you’ve seen the show you know what a hateful, trashy b!tch April is. That said, i can kinda understand Butch’s frustration.. not that he’s any prize either. I’m truly amazed that Tyler & Catelynn ended being such smart, responsible, & all around good kids with these crackheads for parents.

Yes, please take the white trash off the television. This is disturbing! Everything that is posted here is correct … April will probably take Butch back! smh Do the view public a favor and get this drug addicted mess of a person/mother/wife some serious counseling. I mean really who tells a young man “dude your Father’s in prison! OMG we can just ge greatful that, by the grace of God, Tyler and Amber turned out OK.

Does anybody else know that one of the reasons Butch was in prison was for a HOME INVASION? That has got to be the most horrific thing those people had to go through. I wonder how they must feel that he’s now on tv, with “fans” no less.
