History Channel casting for new “Swamp People”

The History Channel has an absolute smash hit on their hands in the form of Swamp People. Fans of the show are borderline obsessed with these Louisiana swampers like Troy Landry, Terral Evans, Liz Cavalier and of course the Guist Brothers. Well the obsession is only going to spread I’m guessing because there’s an upcoming official casting call for tried and true alligator hunters!

That’s right, if you are down on the bayou and think you got what it takes to noodle your way on to national television the folks with Swamp People are giving you a chance. Local news stations are reporting that the producers of the show are on the hunt for registered alligator hunters with at least 50 tags. In addition they’re looking for “any interesting folks who live off the land or earn their living in the swamp – the unique people who can only be found in the swamps of Louisiana.”

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is well aware of how big the show is and how important it can be to his state. He says there is no question that it’s ignited interest in eco and adventure tourism. He went on to say:

“It’s authentic, and that’s what’s important about it; it’s genuine, it’s real, it’s people who are very authentic and do this for a living and are good folks and good ambassadors for the state.”

The casting call is being held on Saturday, July 30 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Cecil’s Cajun Kitchen on 120 West 1st Street, 70634 in DeRidder.

Get in gear and load it up to choot ’em!
